Strep Throat
Strep throat is an infection of the throat and tonsils caused by a
bacterium (Streptococcus). The infection is marked by sore throat, chills, fever, swollen
lymph nodes in the neck, and, sometimes, nausea and vomiting. The symptoms usually begin
suddenly a few days after exposure to the germs in airborne droplets or after direct
contact with an infected person. |
