Coronal suture
The coronal suture passes laterally over the top of the
skull and joins the frontal bone with the two parietal bones. Its name derives from the
Latin word "corona," which means "crown."

The coronal suture is a dense, fibrous connective tissue joint that separates
the frontal and parietal bones of the skull. At birth, the bones of the skull do
not meet.
