Leishmaniasis PictureLeishmaniasis is a disease caused by parasites. These parasites
are transmitted to humans or animals through a sandfly bite. The most common
forms are cutaneous leishmaniasis, which causes skin sores, and visceral
leishmaniasis, which affects several internal organs (usually spleen, liver, and
bone marrow). The picture below shows a skin lesion from leishmaniasis.
