Angina Pectoris PictureAngina pectoris is caused by a lack of oxygen supply to the heart muscle. This lack of oxygen is due to a reduced blood flow to parts of the heart's through restricted or blocked blood vessels. This lack of oxygen to the heart is known as myocardial ischemia. Angina pectoris is causes pain in the chest in the center to left side and often down the left arm.
