Clubbing finger picture

Clubbing is a condition that affects the nails and the tips of the fingers.  It has four features:

  • there is increased softness and sponginess of the nail bed
  • the angle between the finger nail and the nail bed becomes filled in 
  • the nails become more curved 
  • the flesh around the nails, at the tip of the fingers, becomes swollen.
