Haemophilus ducreyi picture
Chancroid is a sexually transmitted infection caused by Haemophilus
ducreyi. A species of HAEMOPHILUS pictured below that appears to be the pathogen or causative agent of the
sexually transmitted disease, CHANCROID.

Within 1 day - 2 weeks after contracting haemophilus ducreya person will get
a small bump in the genitals. The bump becomes an ulcer within a day of its
appearance.
Treatment of the disease haemophilus ducreya as seen in the picture
Chancroid may be treated effectively with several antibiotics. Effective
antibiotics may be included azithromycin, ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin, and
erythromycin.
